joel madden harlow alley 197x300 Shady Couple Offers To Sell Joel Madden A Baby, Real Cheap…And he turned it down. I guess with 19 month-old baby Harlow to take care of and another one on the way, Joel felt that he and Nicole just didn’t have the time or energy for another baby… no matter how much it had been marked down by the dealership.

All joking aside, Joel says a couple really did approach him on the street, asking him if he wanted to purchase their baby. From Joel’s Twitter page:

“Today some people in traffic tried to sell me a baby. A live human baby.

“I didn’t know what to say. I said a little prayer for the kid.

“Wow. It all happend so fast,” he wrote. “I was trying to figure out if they were serious, and i think when my reaction was not a good one, they just took off…

“I mean look. Chances are they were joking.

“The scary part is i really couldn’t tell. Maybe i’m just one gullable fool (sic).”

What do ya think? Were they joking? That was my gut reaction, obviously.

Had this happened in a developing country, I would probably take it much more seriously, but in the US… the baby trafficking thing just isn’t too common. Especially when you’re trying to make a sale to a celebrity as the walk by on the street.

I say it was a prank. Case closed. Or is it?
