Tom Brady: Loving Father, Suburb Hater
In an interview in Details, Tom Brady reveals that he wants to have “4 or 5″ kids and that he despises the American dream. That’s right, I said Tom Brady — the Patriot — thinks white picket fences and suburbs are stupid!
I’m misquoting the expectant father a little bit there, read it for yourself:
“Life is not living in the suburbs with a white picket fence. That’s not life,” says Brady. “Somehow our American culture has made it out that that’s what life needs to be – and that if it’s not that, it’s all screwed up. It’s not. You go through life and you try the best you can.”
Hmm, I’m not sure what got Tom Brady started ranting on the American dream. He’s certainly clearly living a version of it himself, playing quarterback in the NFL and married to a supermodel. Maybe he was just trying to rile up everyone in the suburbs so they’ll pay attention to the Patriots’ preseason.
Aside from condemning the way many of us live, he did talk about his future plans for the Brady-Bundchen family. If Tom gets his way, there will definitely be more babies on the way:
“I want a lot of kids,” he says. “I’d love four or five… We’ll see. It’s not always my decision.”
