Meet The Real Oksana Grigorieva
For the first time since the news about Mel’s pregnant girlfriend leaked out, Oksana Grigorieva is talking to the media about her new album, her relationship with Mel, and her new album. Did I mention she has a new album out?
Apparently, the Gibson PR team has deemed that now is the appropriate time for Oksana to stop stonewalling (and try to sell some albums, dammit). You can check out her latest video (directed by Mel) below.
As you might expect, Oksana’s hoping to both ride Mel’s coattails and yet drag herself out from underneath his giant celebrity shadow… not exactly an easy move to pull off.
It may just be me, but she didn’t exactly put to rest the rumors that a.) she’s a gold digger, or b.) their relationship and pregnancy is a total accident, maybe a huge one. She mainly comes off sounding like: ‘oops I broke up Mel’s marriage, oops I got pregnant, and oops now he’s bankrolling my career.’
“It’s not like I was planning to meet Mel specifically. Life happens.
“There was a working relationship for a long time. I thought he was happily married until I was reassured otherwise. And then it happened,” she said.
Then, if asked whether she and Mel might get married, she answered with the following:
“Marriage? I don’t know. If it happens, I’ll tell you. We’re just very happy. He’s an amazing man”
