A Nude, Breastfeeding Angelina Jolie Sculpture (PHOTO)
You know how Brad Pitt loves collecting art? It’s one of his passions in life, but I’m not sure if this piece would be something he would want to bring home to the family.
Artist Daniel Edwards, same dude who did the sculpture of Brit Brit giving birth on a bearskin rug, and the not-so-appealing hot-pink eyesore of Octomom, has now sculpted a like-ness (?)Â of Angelina Jolie breastfeeding her twins, Knox and Vivienne.
Daniel was inspired by Angelina’s 2008 W Magazine cover of her breastfeeding one of the twins. The photo was taken by her partner Brad Pitt for the mag.  Edwards hopes his Jolie sculpture will inspire moms to breastfeed their babies.
The details of the piece, titled “Landmark For Breastfeeding” were released Tuesday (Aug 5) during World Breastfeeding Week, and the statue will be unveiled on September 11 at MainSite, in Norman Okla., near Brad Pitt’s birthplace.
While I don’t have a problem with a woman-breastfeeding statue/sculpture, and it’s awesome if it brings awareness and lets women know it’s OK to breastfeed anywhere, it is a bit odd that it’s Angelina Jolie-inspired and seriously, it doesn’t even look like Angelina Jolie, in my personal opinion. However, it’s absolutely, ten times better than the Suri Cruise poop sculpture, which not sure what or who that was supposed to inspire?

commented on I don’t find this sculpture to be interesting or inspire breastfeeding in any way. Her emotionless face, the way her hands hold the babies… it’s just awkward. not at all inspirational.

I agree with everybody above- this doesn’t particularly resemble her and it’s not a very natural looking pose. Unless the artist’s goal was to make breastfeeding look like it’s taking place in a mortuary, I don’t get it.
