Brad Pitt Talks About Surviving Six Kids
What’s an average day like in Brad Pitt’s life? And how does Brangelina find time for intimacy (if indeed they still do anymore) with 6 kids who all pile into a 9-foot wide super-sized bed?
From an interview in Germany’s BILD magazine:
BILD: What is your typical day as a dad?
Brad Pitt: “I get going early, make breakfast, get the kids dressed, brush their teeth and take them to school. Angelina is working at the moment. We take turns.”
BILD: Angelina told me once about your giant bed where all eight of you snuggle up?
Brad Pitt: “Yes we have a 3 metre wide bed, but even that isn’t big enough. They all come crawling in in the morning. It’s just about surviving! We all have sleep deprivation.”
BILD: Do you find the time to make love?
Brad Pitt (looks puzzled): What?
BILD: Is it sometimes just the two of you?
Brad Pitt: “Yes we make time for ourselves. It’s very important for every relationship.”
BILD: How? Do you fly off somewhere?
Brad Pitt: “That’s a trade secret!”
If any of you guys saw Away We Go, you’re probably thinking what I’m thinking about the whole family sleeping in the same bed. You know, the part where Maggie Gyllenhaal reveals that she and her spouse have sex while the kids are in the bed…
Do Brad and Angie practice that kind of “Continuum Parenting?” Is that the “trade secret” in their sex life? I never thought of them as quite that new agey.
Brad also talks about his views on religion, motorbikes, and his new movie Inglorious Basterds. Check out the full interview here.

Other than that link, I haven’t read much about it, but it seems like pretty basic parenting to me and I’m an urban yuppie mom. I still followed that type of parenting when my kids were babies. Just seemed logical and natural.
