Beastie Boy Adam Yauch Has Cancer (Video)
Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, aka MCA, aka Nathaniel Hornblower, has cancer.
Yauch released a video statement (below) on the band’s website saying, “Um, so this is crazy. I have some pretty heavy news. I actually have a form of cancer.”
What Yauch has is a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland. Apparently the tumor was caught early and is treatable. Yauch will undergo surgery next week. He will also have radiation treatment.
Said Yauch,”I just need to take a little time to get this in check, and then we’ll release the record and play some shows.”
Adam Yauch is married to Dechen Wangdu and they have a daughter (pictured).
