Steve McNair, NFL quarterback was shot and killed, by his 20-year-old mistress on July 4, 2009.  His wife, Mechelle McNair now has to oversee his estate and make the final decisions about his assets.

From BCK:

Former NFl quarterback Steve Mcnair did not leave a will. As such, a judge has allowed Mechelle McNair, the wife of the slain quarterback, to oversee the NFL player’s estate. Mechelle has 60 days to file an inventory of all of her late husband’s assets.

Although Steve McNair had four children in all, Mechelle McNair listed herself and her two sons, Tyler and Trenton McNair, as the heirs to the estate.  Steve McNair’s two other children are from a previous relationship.

Sad that Mechelle has so much to deal with, and Steve’s sons have a long road ahead of them, trying to make sense out of everything that has happened.  Not an easy thing to do for children.
