Being a recent graduate of the 5th grade, Malia Obama is probably smarter than a 5th grader, but she won’t get to prove that on national television. The President and First Lady politely declined the invitation from Jeff Foxworthy and the show’s producers to appear as one of the show’s classmates.

Earlier this year, a transcript for the show was leaked, revealing that Malia was one of FOX’s top picks to be one of 5th Grader’s 5 classmates in the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, Malia politely declined the invitation as it interfered with her school schedule.”

That was probably a pretty wise move for the First Parents. Appearing on a national game show seems like a lot of pressure to put on a kid who’s already be thrust unwittingly into the public eye. Heck, I don’t know who puts their kids on that show to begin with.

Perhaps even more interestingly, Sarah Palin’s name was listed as a potential candidate. Did Palin resign just so she could study up to win $1M on a game show?

Malia, 10, will be entering the 6th grade in the fall.
