Before his death, Michael Jackson made one thing very clear – he did not want his father Joe Jackson anywhere near his three children, Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7.  The late pop star was afraid his dad would do to his kids, what was done to him as a child.

Michael’s wishes, should anything happen to him, were that his mom Katherine would care for his kids.

A source said, “Michael talked so much about his kids.  He said he was doing his comeback concerts just for them. He hoped to give them financial security.

“It was as though he’d had a premonition of his own death. The one thing he wanted — and insisted upon — was that his father Joe didn’t get anywhere near his kids.

“With Michael dying, I know the last thing he wanted was for Joe to play any part in the raising of his children. He told me, ‘I don’t want Joseph near my kids. I don’t want him doing to them what he did to me.’

The pal added, “He said, ‘My kids are the most important thing in my life. Everything I do, I do for them.’

“Who would Michael want to raise his kids? He loved his mother dearly and Katherine is doing the right thing by seeking temporary custody of her grandchildren. He saw his sister Janet as being someone who could help his mom care for the three youngsters.

“They love Katherine and, with the exception of their nanny, Grace, she was the one person who spent the most time with them.”

Joe Jackson, during a recent interview on Good Morning America, said Michael’s two youngest, daughter Paris, and son Blanket, had real talent.  “I keep watching Paris.  she maybe wants to do something.  What he means is, I see dollar signs!

“And Blanket, he can really dance.”

Uh oh, is this the beginning of Joe Jackson exploiting his grandchildren?  Does he view them as cash cows?  Was Michael right in not wanting his father to have any sort of control over his kids?

I think Michael Jackson’s children need to have time to heal, and that certainly won’t happen if they are thrust into the spotlight.
