Word has it that the very pregnant Jennifer Hudson might name her upcoming baby (boy or girl, still don’t know) after MJ. Michael Jackson Otunga-Hudson… it has a kinda nice ring to it.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

“A very pregnant Jennifer Hudson — who certainly wowed everyone with her great rendition of Michael Jackson’s ‘‘Will You Be There’’ at the memorial service Tuesday — merely smiled coyly and said nothing when several stars (including Usher and Mariah Carey) suggested she should name her soon-to-be-born baby Michael, or Michaela if it’s a girl.”

I don’t know what exactly it means that Jennifer “smiled coyly” when the suggestion was made, but I tend to think that the smile was meant to mask what she was really thinking: shut the heck up about my baby’s name already, Usher.

Still, there might be something to the celebrity gossip. I’m not a gambling man, but I’d bet that the odds of J-Hud naming her baby after Michael will go down significantly as times passes. Not that the chances were all that good to begin with.

One thing’s for sure, I have no doubt that there will be a significant spike in the number of babies named Michael in 2009.
