The Steve McNair 911 Call
A recording of the 911 call placed just after NFL quarterback Steve McNair and girlfriend Sahel Kazemi were found dead in McNair’s Nashville condo was released today. Listen to the 911 call.
According to TMZ, the man who discovered the slain father of 4 was friend Robert Gaddy, who showed up to find the gruesome scene around 1:30ish on Saturday. How shocking must that have been? I really feel for the guy. The phone call is heart-wrenching.
For those following the details as the leak out, the evidence seems to point toward the conclusion that McNair was the victim of a murder/suicide. Kazemi reportedly owned the gun used in the shootings and pulled the trigger. Not that there was a whole lot of doubt to begin with.
Most importantly, now that the story seems to have been pieced together, it’s time to focus on those McNair left behing. Says Baltimore Ravens VP, Ozzie Newsome:
“This is so, so sad. We immediately think of his family, his boys. They are all in our thoughts and prayers. What we admired most about Steve when we played against him was his competitive spirit, and we were lucky enough to have that with us for two years. He is one of the best players in the NFL over the last 20 years…”
