Will 3 Billion Fans Be Watching Michael’s Funeral?

Network executives are estimating that 3 billion people will be watching Michael Jackson’s funeral.

The tickets for the actual memorial service were on a lottery basis, which is seriously insane. There were people lined up for days outside the Staples center just for the chance at a ticket.

It’s also being reported that there were 500 million on the ticket website in the first 90 minutes. 160 countries have arranged feeds from NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox.

That’s half the planet!

There will also be streaming video on the internet which means that this will be the most watched television event in history.

I’m guessing that his kids just want some time to grieve and come to terms with the new circumstances.
