New Show: Jon & Kate Minus 8?
With the Gosselin family in turmoil and a divorce pending for Jon and Kate, their TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 is on hiatus until August. However, when it resumes, their show might be in for some really big changes, as in, no kids being filmed! Jon & Kate Minus 8?
The Gosselin children will become the focus of whether or not the show should continue. Experts worry that the children are being exploited, particularly now, with their parents divorcing. Is it healthy for filming to continue now that their parents are splitting? Yes, many children go through their parents’ divorce but it’s not usually played out in the public eye.

Whatever you want to call the next phase of the popular TLC reality show in the wake of Jon and Kate Gosselin packing it in after 10 years of marriage, it’s the remaining, adorable eight whom some experts worry about most.
“I’m sad to think their custody might be part of what we’re observing on day-to-day basis,” says Mary Cushing Doherty, a family law attorney in Norristown, Pa.
The question for a Pennsylvania court could be whether it’s in the best interest of the children to have their lives broadcast as children of divorce - is that just too much emotional baggage for any minor to carry period, let alone on TV?
This means a court could order that the kids no longer can be on on TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8, which returns from its hiatus with new episodes August 3.
What was once a warm and fuzzy show about a large family, is not so warm or so fuzzy.

the shows charm and innocence is lost. Jon’s tawdry affair is beyond the pale. However, most likely they’ll be the ones laughing all the way to the bank. It’s sad our societies obsession with these reality show train wrecks, (e.g. ” the hogans”).
