Johnny Depp And Jamie Foxx To Play MJ In Biopic!?
Word has it that producers of a new Michael Jackson biopic is courting two of hollywood’s greatest starts (both awesome celebrity dads) to share the part of Michael. Jamie Foxx would play Michael in his early life while Johnny Depp would play the light skinned MJ.
“There are a number of offers being drawn up with a variety of angles to tell Michael’s incredible life story. Some involve using archive footage of Michael and his family and footage from his live shows…A couple would even have an actor cast to play Michael. Jamie Foxx has been mentioned, as has Johnny Depp. It all depends on how his family decide to honor him,” say an insider at one top Hollywood studio.”
After his Oscar-winning depiction of Ray Charles — and showing off his moonwalking skillz on BET — Foxx seems like a shoe-in.
Johnny on the other hand, recently said that he’s never considered playing Michael Jackson, even though a lot of people suspected that he based his Willy Wonka character off of MJ.
This is one of those movie rumors that, against all odds, I really hope is true. If Michael’s story is going to be properly presented to future generations — like Corrine, Lily Rose and Jack — it’s going to take some seriously talented actors like these dudes.
