Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Pregnant & In Handcuffs

OK, I’m just kidding – Elisabeth Hasselbeck is preggers, but wasn’t in handcuffs. But The View co-host is apparently in a bit of hot water, and no, not hot water as in ‘baby is coming, boil me some water and get the towels!’ She’s reportedly being sued for stealing.
From UsMagazine.com:
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who sparks controversy for her conservative opinions — is being sued by an author who claims Hasselbeck, 32, stole her book idea.
Self-published author Susan Hassett states in a federal lawsuit filed in Boston that Hasselbeck infringed on her copyrights by publishing a book on Celiac Disease called The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide last month, the Boston Herald reports.
A statement on behalf of Center Street and Hasselbeck read: “Neither Center Street nor Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been served with the Complaint in this action. However, there is no basis for the allegations in the Complaint as published in the press. Ms. Hasselbeck worked diligently and tirelessly on her book and is disappointed in this attempt to discredit her work and her ability to bring this important message to the public.”
“This week a claim was filed with regard to my book THE G-FREE DIET. I assure you that the allegations are without merit, and are being handled appropriately,” Hasselbeck added to Us in a separate statement.
Hasselbeck — who is pregnant with her third child — recently announced she suffers from Celiac Disease, which damages the small intestine and interferes with nutrient absorption.
The talk show host — who discovered she had the disorder after appearing on Survivor — cannot eat gluten (found in wheat, rye and barley) as a result.
The soon-to-be mom of three, said the claims are ridiculous and she briefly mentioned it on Wednesday’s show, saying “I just want to assure you the allegations are without merit and are being handled appropriately.”
Granted, Hasselbeck can be annoying, but I highly doubt she’s a thief of someone else’s work… what kind of example would she be setting for her kids, and she honestly seems like the type who is going to set the bar high for those babies!
