Decoy Dad In John Edwards Scandal Writes A Tell-All
And the John Edwards saga continues… Andrew Young, longtime friend of Edwards and the man who originally claimed to be the father of Rielle Hunter’s baby, wants to cash in set the record straight once and for all.
Young is supposedly looking for a publisher to pick up his book, allegedly chock-full of juicy details of John Edwards’ now infamous sex scandal. The tell-all will document how Young was paid off by Texas politico Fred Baron to pretend that Rielle’s baby was his, thus saving John’s career and campaign hopes.
Did I mention that his stated purpose is to “set the record straight,” and run some damage control on his reputation… Yeah. Good luck with that.
I really don’t know how admitting to taking a bribe from a sleazy politico and then blabbing all about John Edwards’ marital indiscretions is going to really help your reputation.
The scandal doesn’t seem to be fading away like John Edwards had hoped. Elizabeth Edwards brought the controversy back to life this spring when she released her own book Resilience — and then went on Oprah and trash-talked Hunter.
Personally, I still can’t believe that there’s been no paternity test. Wouldn’t that help get put the lid on at least a little bit of the controversy?

Marilyn commented on Jun 24 09 at 11:01 amLila, I read on a blog last fall that Rielle had a three other lovers during the period of time when she became pregnant. If this is true, Rielle’s probaby not anxious to have the test either.
