Update: Usher Speaks Out After Divorce Filing
R & B sensation Usher recently filed for divorce from his wife of nearly two years, Tameka Foster, and admits things aren’t easy right now.
Usher spoke with ET, and when asked if he’s in a good place right now, said, ”I’d hate for [people] to assume that. If there’s any turmoil, I think it’s managing all of it, but having an incredible team that helps me do that it makes it very easy, or easier than it would normally be attempting to do it myself.”
The 30-year-old entertainer is putting his focus and attention on his two sons (he would like joint custody with Tameka), Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 6 months. “What I do is, I try to get [my work] done and get home on the weekends if possible… but when I’m with my boys it’s just all about them.”
According to sources, Usher and Tameka have lived separately for nearly a year and things were never really good from the start. “She was alienating and controlling, and he was unhappy,” said an insider.
Foster’s lawyer said his client has been “a faithful wife and loving mother” during the course of the couple’s marriage.
Good luck guys, and remember to keep the focus on the kids – divorce is sad, but it can be done with respect.
