David Letterman was with Regina Lasko for a long time before making an honest woman of her. Since 1986! Often the butt of jokes on his late-night talk show, David would occasionally talk about his relationship with certain guests, giving us a rare glimpse into his personal life. And we’ve watched his son Harry grow, too.

In March, David and Regina finally got married and Harry (5-1/2) was naturally front and center, though he was a tad confused about everything. “He thought I was getting my drivers license,” Letterman told Julia Roberts on his show recently. “Because when you get there, there is a lot of ‘Okay, sign this. Okay, good. Here you are.’”

Telling Harry that everything would be finished by 3 o’clock might have been a mistake, though. The wedding had to be delayed when David’s truck got stuck in the mud traveling to the courthouse. “Now he’s late and he knows he’s late,” Dave says, “and he throws a little fit in the car. So twice on the way to getting married I had to stop the car and do one of those…” At that point, Julia Roberts made a shaking motion with her fist.

“It wasn’t funny at the time,” Dave says, “but looking back on it…it was me, it was my son, it was Regina, and it was the justice of the peace. And that was it. It’s legal. I mean, that’s the most important thing, right?”

If you ask me, Letterman remains the best amongst the late-night TV hosts. I like Craig Ferguson, too, but Dave is king.

Letterman seems to think Bristol Palin is a slut because she wasn’t married when she became pregnant. I guess that means we can make jokes about Regina Letterman getting knocked-up by A-Rod during a Yankees game. She’s over 18 and wasn’t married when she got knocked up by David Letterman. That makes it ok according to Dave and other liberals. David Letterman you’re a hypocrite. How would you like it if people made jokes about Henry, Regina or Your Mom that were as Vile as the ones you made about the Palins. You’re a pathetic loser Letterman.
