Naomi Watts and boyfriend Liev Schreiber packed up the kids and headed off to visit the holy land last weekend. Somewhere along the way, they got the idea to express their love for the planet by planting trees in the Jewish National Fund Park.

I’m not sure exactly what the significance of planting a tree in that particular park in Galilee is … but I’m assuming that there is some kind of symbolism there.

I’m also assuming that 2 year-old Sacha had a good time watching his mom and dad digging in the dirt and playing farmer. Six month-old Samuel Kai, on the other hand, looks like he spent less time communing with mother earth and more time catching a nap.

Every time I see pictures of people planting trees, I think, ‘man, I’ve got to go plant a few trees someplace. Then in a few years, I’ll have a sweet shade tree.’ But I never seem to get around to it.
