Gwen Stefani: Motherhood Cramps Rock’n'Roll Lifestyle
Life as a normal parent is complicated enough, just imagine trying to be a mother and a sexy, creative, touring rock star at the same time. Gwen Stefani is trying pulling it off, but she says there are somethings she just can’t quite find the time to do anymore.
“Now I’m a wife and a mother of two. It’s a really different role,” Stefani tells the magazine. “My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now. That’s a huge, huge thing.”
“We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak, but we’ll see,” she says of Kingston.
Not only does Gwen no longer have the time to party like a rockstar, she’s even having trouble dedicating the time necessary to write tunes. Apparently, No Doubt was hoping to release a new album before the start of their summer tour, but it just didn’t come together:
“Maybe once I sleep through the night, I’ll be able to write a song,” she tells the July issue of Elle magazine. “That’s where I’m at.”
With an infant and a ‘crazy’ toddler on her hands, I’m guessing it’s going to be awhile before the hands-on mother can once again find that quiet, non-distracted place she goes to write her hit songs.
