The Duggars, Jim Bob and Michelle, are parents to 18 kids and while the baby boom is quiet on their watch – at least for now – they are about to become grandparents!  Oldest child, son Joshua, and his wife Anna, are getting ready for their first baby, a girl, due in October.

Josh told Today Show’s Meredith Vieira on Monday, “I have had a feeling this whole time it’s going to be a girl.  So that now I’m for sure it’s a boy.”

But, he was right with this first instinct – when he cut into the cake provided by the Today Show staff, it was pink inside… indicating he and Anna are indeed expecting a daughter!

Joshua continued, “I think you can prepare only in so many ways, but really just realizing that you can be a role model for that child and be as prepared as you can be.”

Will he and Anna have a big family like his parents?  Probably not!

“We’d be happy with two or three.  I think that children are a blessing though and when you raise them right they’re a great blessing.”

Proud grandparents-to-be, Jim Bob and Michelle, were via satellite and the Duggar patriarch said, “We’re really excited about being grandparents.”  Michelle said, “They are going to make great parents.”

Congrats!  Hope all goes well.

The Duggars TLC show 18 Kids and Counting, airs at 9 p.m. on Tuesdays.
