It’s True: Usher Files for Divorce From Wife Tameka

After a flurry of rumors, it’s now confirmed: Usher has filed for divorce from wife Tameka Foster Raymond.

According to the Associated Press, court records show that the R&B star (real name Usher Raymond IV) filed a divorce petition on Friday in Superior Court in Atlanta. The couple, who have been married nearly two years, have two sons together, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months.

According to People magazine Usher and Tameka have been leading separate lives for months, with Usher holed up in a recording studio in Las Vegas and, according to a source, doing his best “to keep Tameka away.”

Sounds like Tameka isn’t sitting at home pining over her soon-to-be ex, though; the night before the divorce filing she was spotted at a screening of Eddie Murphy’s new movie, Imagine That with the couple’s eldest son, and two of her sons from her first husband. According to an onlooker Tameka was “happy and smiling.”

Time will tell if the high-profile couple manage to keep their split amicable - let’s hope so for the sake of the kids.
