Stephen Colbert is visiting the troops in Iraq this week for a couple of reasons. 1) to visit the troops 2) to promote DonorsChoose.org. I’m sure he has other reasons for going, but these are the reasons I am aware of.

What a great example he is setting for his kids. He’s putting himself in “danger” to promote helping other kids and the children of all the service men & women stationed away from their families.

It must be said that, no matter the politics, everyone had a great time. His visit was much appreciated.

I’m sure Mr. Colbert didn’t take his family, but wow, what great fodder for story telling and lesson learning for years to come.
