Madonna & Jesus To Adopt African Baby?
Madonna’s bid to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James was denied and although the pop star went ahead with an appeal, it looks like she’s got another adoption plan in motion. According to sources, the 50-year-old singer and her 22-year-old lover Jesus Luz are hoping to adopt an African baby.
A source told News of The World, that Madonna is putting her efforts into adopting a baby from Nigeria.
“She was distraught when her adoption failed in Malawi,” an insider told the paper.
“At the time she blamed the fact that her relationship with Jesus made her look like she was going through some midlife crisis.
“But now she’s looking at adoption centres in Nigeria and has got another female friend to make an initial approach to test the waters.
“She’s determined not to make the same mistakes and feels that the only way to do this is to get Jesus involved from the off.
“Madonna is considering visiting, perhaps with Jesus, as soon as she can.”
Adoptive parents who have not been resident in Nigeria for at least three months find the adoption process extremely difficult.
“Madonna has some of the best legal minds working for her and she’ll be pushing them to find a loophole,” the source added. “Madonna always thought she would eventually win her battle to adopt Mercy, but that hasn’t been the case. She thinks this will bring her and Jesus together as one big happy family.
“Failure is not an option. Madonna wouldn’t be able to take rejection for the second time.”
So, does this mean Madonna and Jesus are serious about their relationship? Adopting a baby is a huge, life-long committment; hopefully they have thought this through!
Madonna is mom to Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3.
