Okay, let’s see if I can make it through this without making any MILF jokes.  It’s being reported that an anonymous bidder has paid $19,600 at a Berlin auction house for a nude photograph of former model and France’s current first lady Carla Bruni.

The photo, titled “Carla Bruni in Bed,” captures a nude Bruni lounging in an unmade bed and was taken by American fashion photographer Pamela Hanson in 1994.  It was expected to only fetch between $3,568-$4,997 and attracted prospective buyers from as far away as Mexico.

After the huge sale the auction house’s photography expert, Franziska Schmidt, sniffed, “I really don’t know why there is such a hype.  For us it is not the highlight.”  Buddy, I’d like to know how much someone would pay for your wife’s picture.

No word on what Bruni’s husband, French president Nicolas Sarkozy, thinks of the sale.  I’d like to know what her son Aurelien, 8, thinks of it, but I’m sure he’s never even seen the photo.  Although these days, everything, even a naked picture of your mom, is just a Google away.
