Kate Gosselin’s Kids: “Mommy You Are Mean”

Is Kate Gosselin a strict mom?  Is she uptight, no fun, a stick in the mud?  According to eyewitnesses, Kate wasn’t always in a great mood when she took her eight children to to Bald Head Island, North Carolina.

From Us Weekly:

According to several fellow vacationers, Kate Gosselin didn’t pay her eight kids much attention on their getaway to Bald Head Island, N.C., when the camera crew wasn’t around – even though she pulled twin daughters Madelyn and Cara, 8, out of school for the for-TV trip.

Between texting on her phone and huddling with her bodyguard Steve Neild (with whom husband Jon once feared she was having an affair), “she completely ignored her children the entire time,” fellow vacationer Ann Michele Sweeney tells the newest issue of Us Weekly.

“When Kate sat on the edge of the pool, she told one of [the twins], ‘If you splash me, you’re dead meat,’” Sweeney says. “She was not joking at all.”

The child’s response?

“She said, ‘Mommy, you are mean!’” Sweeney says.

Another vacationer, Kim Kirsch, tells Us that “Everyone that’s encountered her says she’s been rude, mean and hateful.”

Showing off her gratis tummy tuck (worth $5,000 to $8,000) in a bright bikini, Kate kept her distance as her kids frolicked in the water with a nanny.

Jon, meanwhile, tried to escape reality TV cameras by hanging with two female family friends in Newburgh, New York.

“He just wanted to chill,” Rob Tanczos, owner of bar 26 Front Street (where Jon downed a Miller Lite beer), tells Us Weekly. When people started noticing him, “he got uncomfortable and took off.”

And that’s not all – Kate apparently threw a hissy fit near her $1,807 a-night rental home, and was upset because her kids broke her no eating food off the grounds rule.

Listen, if I was taking eight small children on vacation, I no doubt, would probably throw a hissy fit or two myself!  And any mom I know, has heard their child(ren), at some point, tell them how mean they are, so Kate shouldn’t take it to heart!

I’ve been known to tell my son that if he disobeys me I will crush him like a bug. Needless to say, I have not attempted and will never attempt to actually crush him like an actual bug. It’s a jocular way of saying that the kid had better listen, and my son absolutely understands that I’m serious about the disobedience but not about the ‘threat’. It’s just silly when criticisms reach this level.

I don’t think that kate was being mean. I mean look at all of the stress the papperazzi and 8 kids and on top of that an affaire. So i hope that they cut her some slack.

Give me a break. We all say things to our kids that we don’t mean when we are stressed. We don’t act on them. Kate is a mom like anyone else and has the same feelings and emotions. It is just magnified from having so many kids and from being on tv.

I read something once, that said that the kids have told their aunt Jodi and other babysitters that they dont like the cameras. They dont like being filmed and stuff.
i hate that this whole mess has happened to the Gosselins. I am a fan of the show, and i guess i never thought about how the kids feel about it. From what I’ve read multiple places, Kate is using the kids and the show and stuff for money and fame. I’m not sure thats the whole reason why they do the show still and haven’t stopped even through all this crap, but im sure its part of the reason why they’re still doing it.
I still wish they could go back in time and get it all together, so this would never happen.
We should all keep the family in our prayers, and ask God to help them.

I’ve always been a fan of the show, the kids are soo cute and adorable and sweet. I hope all these rumos aren’t true. I believe the divorce wasn’t either Jon or Kates fault, but both of theirs. I think that its the things that both of them have done in the past that ahve brought them to this conclusion. They both have their faults, no one is perfect. But, i do think that back in October of 2008 when Kate first said she wanted to split, (go to http://www.popeater.com/2009/08/05/jon-kate-left-me-for-a-career/?icid=main|main|dl2|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.popeater.com%2F2009%2F08%2F05%2Fjon-kate-left-me-for-a-career%2F for more information) and Jon said they should go to therapy or a marriatial counselor they should have. But Kate said no. I don’t know what to think of this. I really hope Kate doesnt let Hailey get close to the kids, let her get to know them very well. Becasue i honestly don’t like Hailey Glassman; she has said mean things to Kate like “Jon never loved you!” adn she once said (according to magazines) something along the lines of “I’ll take care of the kids”
Yes, we should keep them in our prayers.
I hope it all works out.
Sorry that was so long!
