Octo-Babies Get Bank Accounts
Now that Nadya’s children will presumably get paid to appear in a reality series based on her really messed up family situation, her lawyers have reportedly set up some accounts to hold their money while they’re still minors.
The “Coogan Accounts” which are required for any child actor (of which Octo-Mom has 14), automatically save 15% of a child’s earnings that can’t be touched until they reach adulthood.
No word on what kind of control Octo has only the other 85%, but at least a small chunk is safe from her grasp.
While Nadya has recently been working on the development of a reality show, I haven’t seen any convincing evidence that a network will actually pay her for it. Let’s hope someone picks it up, for the sake of her kids’ college fund … I guess.
She must have got enough charitable donations via PayPal to make a down payment on her new house, even though she didn’t opt to get her mom’s house out of foreclosure.
