At the recent Toy Fair in New York, VTech launched a new animated e-reading system called the FLiP. This toy is designed specifically for kids aged 3-7 years.
The FLip offers storytelling through animation, narration, character voices, graphics, sounds and music. Children can follow the story, play reading games and use the story dictionary. There will be more than 100 stories available for download at the VTech Web site.
In addition, there will be 11 software options to choose from. These include well-known characters such as The Little Engine That Could, Disney/Pixar’s Cars, Shrek, Olivia and Disney Princesses.
The FLip will be available nationwide in stores in August. Retail price is $59.99.
I like that the screen’s graphics are colorful and clearly shows off the sentences. This is a toy I look forward to getting for my kids!
