The Babble Review: Tommee Tippee now at Babies ‘R Us!

pTRU1 6945714dt 300x300 The Babble Review: Tommee Tippee now at Babies R Us!As we’ve mentioned before, the highly anticipated Tommee Tippee line of infant and baby feeding products hits Babies”R”Us today. Yes, today! Hailed as Britain’s #1 feeding product, I’m not one to believe the hype until I try it out for myself. I admit, their products looked intriguing, especially considering I had such a difficult time finding an affordable line of bottles designed for breastfeeding mothers that supplement with bottles for the work day. Their Closer to Nature line is designed to help babies transition to and from the breast and bottle. Also, I was interested in testing out their age-specified sippy cups because my discerning (read: picky) infant has turned up his nose at one, two, three, four, FIVE different brands.

So is this new line worthy of the accolades?

A loud, resounding yes!

The BPA and phthalate-free bottles ($18 for a three-pack) have extra-wide, flexible nipples that mimic the feeling of a real breast, and the built-in valve reduces air intake. While my baby is well used to other bottles, I see much promise for those just starting out in the bottle-feeding stage. They also have lines for colicky babies (although I didn’t try those out).

The shining star in my opinion is the graduated stages of Explora line sippy cups, designed with both parents and babies in mind. I say parents because they truly are spill-proof — believe me. We put the poor cup through the ringer. And as for babies, we finally found a winner with the Trainer Cup. With the sensitivity of a bottle (no vacuum-sucking required), he’s been able to practice holding and drinking out of a cup without the frustration or mess. Finally!

To sum up, everything I’ve tried has been a success and I’m looking forward to delve further into their product lines. Every item seems to be well considered, which I appreciate. Next on my list to try? The Easi-Mat that securely holds bowls to the highchair tray. Yes, please!
