Finally My Little Pony Answers 80s Girls Fantasies

My Little Pony Styling Pinkie PieI’m going to betray every bit of grrl power cred I’ve ever built up here, but I can’t help it – My Little Pony, we have always wanted you for your hair.

Thank you for finally getting the picture.

For years the My Little Pony came packed with that little hairbrush and a paltry mane for doing the job. So we made do with prancing her around the living room and creating makeshift stables out of the couch cushions. Yes, I was an eighties child – I did it all.

And then I had a kid – who has spent the last several weeks talking about My Little Pony hair clippies.

Which I thought meant, well, hair clips shaped like My Little Pony. Until she hauled out one of the toy catalogs my parents let her get hold of (blast you grandparents and your evil spoilage) and showed me My Little Pony Stylin’ Pony Pinkie Pie.

A pony with the long lustrous mane we dreamed of back in the day, plus comb, faux hairdryer and, you guessed it, five “clippies” (which I can attest now – also work in a child’s hair).

Mom, get thee to Amazon where she’s $19.99. Oh yeah, and get one for your kid while you’re at it.
