Babble Review: Crumpler’s Bagged Some Tots!

Baby AnchovyProving good things came come in small packages too, Crumpler’s re-sized two of its awesome adult bags so toddlers can tote them around town.

Babble took the Baby Anchovy (the kids version of their Seedybar messenger back pack) out for a test drive with a four-year-old tester offering up her back for the task.

The result: the bag is easier to handle for tots thanks to a lid that flips down and buckles shut rather than the traditional zipper closure that can easily get caught up on their stuff. The buckles were a bit hard to handle the first few times – it takes a good squeeze from Mom’s hands – but they loosened up. Adjustable back straps made for a good fit to reduce back strain, and the inside was surprisingly roomy (although a few extra pockets on the inside would have been nice) with two slots on the outside for water bottle or found treasure.

The Baby Anchovy gets bonus points for the reflector strips running along its back – vital for walks off the bus after Daylight Savings time has ended. Not part of the kid design, but kid-friendly nevertheless is the Crumpler logo – our tester described as a “kid with crazy hair who makes me laugh.”

Get the Baby Anchovy from Crumpler for $55.
