If teaching your toddlers and kids about protecting themselves and others from germs is what you’re after, the Germy Wormy DVD is a must. The production value is very poor, but that’s not the point. I wouldn’t watch a DVD called “Germy Wormy” for my own entertainment, but I was thrilled when my two year old wanted to watch it (and requested to watch it another two times!) The video is also pretty scary, but maybe that’s not a bad thing. Germs are scary especially with Swine Flu around this season. (In fact, after my husband saw the video, he got out the sanitizing wipes and started cleaning door knobs. Thanks, Germy Wormy!) Now, when my daughter puts her fingers in her mouth I say, “Germy Wormy” and she takes her fingers out of her mouth. Will the video make her stop putting her fingers in her mouth? We don’t know yet. At least I know she is a little more aware of of germs and that’s a good start.
As for the Germy Wormy paper sleeves that are sold with the DVD? My daughter had her’s on her arm for about a second before ripping it off. I don’t feel too confident about that product, but the video itself is well worth it.
Purchase the Germy Wormy DVD for $15. The DVD with a ten pack of Disposable Sleeves is $19.50. Find out more at Germy Wormy.
