Giant Microbe Petri Dishes are the Sickest Toys on the Block

Forget the swine flu party – you can now give your kid their own petri dish full of bacteria! Better still, they won’t get sick.

The strangest toy I’ve seen in awhile (and that’s saying something), Giant Microbes giant petri dishes let you give your kid a sore throat, the chicken pox and a whole host of other nasties (bad breath is even on there!) in toy form.

Each Petri Dish comes with a fact sheet about the disease at hand (right down to the Latin name and how to treat it). The details will be lost on little kids – do they really need to know the difference between a viral sore throat and strep throat?

The “microbes” look a bit like larger versions of those freaky mice you buy for the cat, but I can’t help thinking these toys are kind of cool.
