LeapFrog brings us Reading 2.0 with the introduction of the Tag Reading System (ages 4-8) and Tag Junior (ages 2-4). Reading is now interactive. More than it already was, of course.
Both systems work in a similar manner, using a hand-held tool packed with a bunch of computer stuff to to “read” the books (sold separately) by identifying dotted media at a rate of make-your-head-spin. The tools hold about 5 books each, downloaded via the internet, with the older kids getting a talking pen and the little kids getting a little froggy thing, respectively.
The titles available for the Tag system include the likes of Disney and Pixar, Dr. Seuss, National Geographic, Star Wars and a handful of popular children’s literature.
The Tag Junior library includes Disney, Dora, the Backyardigans and Curious George.
The Tag Reading System (normally $49.99 but on sale for $39.99), the Tag Junior ($34.99) and available titles ($10.99-$13.99) are available at the LeapFrog website and most major retailers.
