7 Days of Store It: Everything In Its Place

Everything BinsFirst rule of getting kids to put things away – let them know where things need to go. You can avoid the mish-mash at the bottom of the toy box if you cash in on a variety of bins to keep toy cars in one place, building blocks in another.

And if the bins actually look like they belong in a pre-kid decorated living room, it won’t matter quite as much that said bin doesn’t make it’s way back to the playroom.

That’s the tack I took when I realized the playroom was taking over my living room, and the Everything Bins from Serena & Lily fit the bill nicely. Available in just under a dozen soothing prints and almost as many sizes, the window box is my pick for kids – plenty of room for a pile of action figures or doll clothes, small enough for them to pick up and put away, and it’s water tight – so when they decide to give said action figures a bath, they won’t be bathing the floor at the same time.

Although it’s true that a cheap plastic bin would work, these stand up well – and when the kids are no longer toting trucks, you’ll have a bin that still looks good in the living room . . . and watertight works for ice and bottles too Mom and Dad.

Get any one in the Everything Bins set from Serena & Lily – prices vary from $48 for the smallest on up to $85 for bigger bins.
