The lip on the top of the bowl is designed to push food back onto a spoon. The patent pending design is only good if a baby is going to push their spoon up the side of the bowl. Not sure if it will prevent the usual flinging of utensils in the air though. That’s why with this bowl you would have to train your child to push along the sides.
