One of the big announcements at the ABC show last year was Maclaren’s new luxury stroller line, the “Grand Tour LX“. But then right around that time the economy went and tanked, and apparently it wasn’t such a good idea anymore for parents to be investing in a luxury stroller. So in the name of flexibility (read: cheaper price point) Maclaren updated their Grand Tour LX and created the Grand Tour LX Custom.
Basically it’s the same as the fully loaded Grand Tour LX, except now you can pick and choose what pieces you want. This not only allows you to customize the stroller to your needs, but also customize the price to your budget. A lot of the same features on the fully loaded version (still available for $900) come standard with the new version (notably the “Strollometer” pictured below) which is great. And by picking and choosing the customizable bits you can expect to bring your price down to somewhere between $500 and $650. It’s still not exactly a Dora umbrella stroller for $15, but it is a luxury stroller at a much less luxurious price.
