Inside the box, he looks just like the Eric Carle caterpillar. But not for long.
This new cuddly critter from Kids Preferred comes with four washable markers so your kids can color this caterpillar very hungry . . . or very blue, green, red or yellow.
The squishy butterfly-to-be is covered almost entirely (save for his head and feet) in a white fabric waiting for your kids to mark up with the markers. When they’re done, chuck it in the washer and it all comes off – ready for them to create a caterpillar anew.
The markers write easily enough, but little kids may have a tough time writing on the folds in the fabric. Good thing neatness doesn’t count in creative play.
The washability of this critter earns the Color Me Caterpillar a Babble thumbs up alone – when the markers have long since dried up, your kids can cuddle up with him in bed, on the road or out on a nature walk, and when he’s starting to show a little wear, it’s off to the washer. How many of your kid’s stuffies can you say that about?
Get it from Kids Preferred for $18.
