Band Hero Brings Drums, Vocals to DS Lite

We’ve already seen Guitar Hero make an awesome transition to Nintendo DS Lite, but with news of a new, full-band game for the handheld system, we had to wonder: How was Activision going to cram a full band onto those tiny thumbpads? Well, duh, we say after seeing the new Drum Grip controller, which will come bundled with Band Hero when the game hits stores this fall.

Band Hero also features “vocals” mode, which lets you use the DS’ built-in microphone to belt out hits from Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, the Killers, Avril Lavigne and more. And, even though seasoned Guitar Hero heroes won’t need it, the family-oriented Band Hero also features a “No Fail” mode, which means kids can rock as ineptly as kids are wont to without having to start over again and again.

Band Hero will also be available in a console version, which lets you use any combination of guitar and drum controllers to rock out full-band style — watch this space for more details, and keep an eye on the Band Hero website for the latest.
