7 Days of Kids Crafting: Lay It Out on the Table

creativeprojects 300x300 7 Days of Kids Crafting: Lay It Out on the TableIf they’re already whining “I’m bored” with summer vacation, we have quick fixes to keep them out of your hair: crafting family-style. So keep checking back all week for 7 Days of Crafting with Kids.

Who says they need to take control of the dining room table to get their craft on? From the folks who make our favorite outdoor toys, this little table and chairs set is a crafting kid’s dream.

Dubbed the Creative Projects Table, Step 2 has set this table up with everything they need – cups for crayons, markers and the like, wooden shelves along the base for their coloring books and supplies and a moveable shelf at head-height for easy access to the bits and baubles of today’s project. Coupled with two little chairs, this is the table that will double as summer craft headquarters and school-time homework spot.

I’m already a big fan of Step2, so I might be a bit biased, but this particular table earned points for being super sturdy and offering ample space for projects big and small. Even better, the surface is smooth, so coloring a piece of paper doesn’t result in that pebbled look you end up with when you’re coloring on a textured surface.

There is some assembly, so power up your cordless drill. They say you can use a screwdriver in the directions, but not every hole is pre-drilled (although they are well marked). If you have the drill, however, assembly is pretty painless.

Get it from Amazon for $127.80 with free shipping!
