7 Days of Kids Crafting: Toy Making

made by me 7 Days of Kids Crafting: Toy MakingIf they’re already whining “I’m bored” with summer vacation, we have quick fixes to keep them out of your hair: crafting family-style. So keep checking back all week for 7 Days of Crafting with Kids.

Remember the Cub Scouts’ pinewood derby? You don’t have to be a scout to get in on the vehicle action. The Made By Me line from Montgomery Schoolhouse let’s them tackle their toys from start to finish.

Taking handmade to a whole new level, the sets are packed with four vehicles and all the fixings to make them run. You supply the paint or markers (if they want) but the wood carving has been done, and holes are pre-drilled, so kids can really make this a “do it myself” project.

Made in Vermont, the kits are environmentally friendly, made from sustainable wood, and they’re toxin free. So let’s get this show on the road. Get their first set of wheels at Olie Bollen for $16.95 and let loose their inner mechanic.

Check out more of 7 Days of Crafting as the week goes on.
