When Zubbles were first announced in 2005, they were a pretty big deal for the toy world: colored blowing bubbles that left no stains behind. Unfortunately for inventor Tim Kehoe, who’d spent over 10 years and literally millions of dollars trying to bring his bubble solution to life, the unexpected complexities of mass-producing Zubbles proved to be more daunting than expected.
Well, four years, several distributors, and one very happy toy inventor later, Zubbles finally have their “open for business” sign, and based on the response so far, the wait has been worth it. Considering bubbles’ popularity — over 200 million bottles of solution sold annually, making them them arguably the planet’s most popular toy — here’s hoping Kehoe quickly grabs his own corner of the market.
Get your own two-pack (red and blue) of Zubbles bubble solution from $14.95 directly from the Zubbles website, or from Kehoe’s own iPhone app. And while you’re waiting for the package to arrive, grab the kids and check out this old Zubbles teaser video to see why the toy had us so excited in the first place.
