Harry Potter Puts a Spell on Wii

Do your children (or perhaps you) have a fantasy of being Harry Potter? A gifted and talented wizard, Harry faces danger, intrigue and excitement each and every day. Personally,  I think I’d skip the danger. Instead, I think it’s best to just live vicariously through another realm …the video game.

The brand new Happy Potter and the Half-Blood  Prince game for Wii (and also for Ninendto DS) by EA allows the player to inhabit Harry’s being and play Quidditch, duel with wands, and practice his potion-mixing skills.

The game includes much from the book with scenarios and scenes taken straight from the Half Blood Prince with Happy interfacing with other characters like Ron, Hermoine, Luna and in certain parts of the game you can enlist in the help of  Headless Nick.  Your character through the use of your Wii remote and nunchuk adapter explores the Hogwarts castle at night, searches the grounds, and play on the Quidditch field. But don’t get to comfy, the scenes and your surroundings change as soon as you finish the task at hand.  And as you play the game and reach more goald, additional ‘magical places’ open up for you to explore.

This game is rated E for everyone ages 10+.  The tasks involved in each quest are simple to learn and attempt (finishing each one is a bit harder) but the youngest of players in the age range will be able to easily catch on.  Harry Potter fans will enjoy inhabiting Harry’s world and hey,  knowing a thing or two about potion mixing, wand dueling and how to get around a haunted castle are also good life skills to pick up right?

You can pick up a copy of the game here for.
