Happy Canada Day everyone! If this year’s Canada Day has caught you unawares and you’re scrambling for something Canadian to wear today, then this list probably won’t help much. But there’s no time like the present to start preparing for next year – so while you’re thinking of it, check out these five t-shirts. And yes – all are available in child sizes (except where noted).
The “Babies Canada Day T-Shirt” from Candadian athletic clothing company ROOTS is probably the most normal of the whole bunch, and is perfect for getting your little Canuck in the spirit. $16.95 CAD from Roots.com.
The 2010 Winter Olympics will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, so if you want a shirt for the games (as well as Canada Day 2010) then this is the shirt for you. $19 (US I assume) from Vancouver2010.com
My favorite t-shirt in the whole bunch is this simple, understated gem I found on Etsy.com. Map of Canada T-Shirt, $23 at Etsy.com.
Moving on to the more cynical shirts geared towards an American audience, there’s this offering from t-shirt purveyor BustedTees.com. Canada – America’s Hat, $20 from Busted Tees.com.
And finally there’s this one, which expresses a real frustration I can remember having to deal with when I was a kid and young adult (and used many more quarters than I do now). Canada Owes Me $5 In Real Quarters is unfortunately SOLD OUT at Threadless.com, but if you love it you can request a reprint. And while you’re at it, request that they make it in children’s sizes too.
