In my house we don’t call Cranium’s Cariboo by it’s given name. We call it ‘The Treasure Game’. The goal is, of course, treasure. Cariboo is an educational hunt that involves searching for colors, letters and shapes. As you find items, you are able to utilize the coveted ‘key’ and open up little trap doors which may or may not contain booty – in the form of colorful rubber balls. In our house, the hot pink ball is particularly cherished. As soon as you find all the balls and put them in the ‘treasure slot’, the treasure chest pops open to reveal the prize (a pile of fake shiny gold).
I have played countless rounds of Cariboo, which just shows the worthiness of the game. I have yet to conveniently ‘lose’ it, break it or give it away. Which says a lot.
You can get started on your own treasure hunt here for $19.99.
