“Bingo with a Zing”

zingo Bingo with a Zing

Until recently, when I heard the words “I want to play one of the games from the closet with you” come blaring out of my five year old, my initial response was to try think fast of a convincing reason why we shouldn’t. She was never dissuaded by the truth that most of our “kids” games are destroyed because they’re flimsily made, or that a game always ends in tears because she gets too frustrated, or a hundred other reasons why I avoided the game shelf  — so I’d usually just skip to a surefire distraction, jumping on the bed or baking a cake. Then, Zingo! moved into the closet and everything changed.“Bingo with a Zing,” Zingo cards have a 3 by 3 grid that shows pictures and words. Little tiles, with matching images, are placed in the “zinger,” and kids take turns using the contraption to reveal two tiles at a time. It’s great, and makes me feel like less of a spoil-sport for never wanting to play board games. Even my 3 year old enjoys it, in fact, sometimes they even play Zingo! peacefully together without me!
