Generally speaking, a water bottle is the same size whether it’s full or empty. Not the Platypus. Used by backpackers and other outdoor adventurers, this flexible polyethylene pouch stands upright while holding water, then conveniently flattens and rolls up for easy storage. For parents, it’s a lighter, less cumbersome way to carry extra H2O to hot playgrounds, beaches or other excursions. The Platypus can even handle being frozen in advance to keep things cool for drinking or refilling littler water bottles later. The one-liter Platypus sells for $7.95, but other sizes are also available.
