Droolicious Shopping Guide: Chicco Strollers

topazio0 Droolicious Shopping Guide: Chicco Strollers

The Liteway joins the ranks of Chicco’s wheels.

Chicco’s known for their bold color combinations and parent-friendly features.  Their latest set of wheels is the Liteway ($129.99).  This 17-pound compact stroller bridges the gap between an umbrella stroller and a full-featured stroller.

Like it’s cousin the C6, this model is trim and easy to maneuver in tight spaces.  But unlike the C6, this light stroller can accommodate an infant.  And when the winter chills arrive, the Liteway is ready with a foot muff that comes standard with every stroller (in matching colors, naturally).  The Liteway has also been upgraded with cushy handles that make long strolls more comfortable on parents’ hands.  And let’s not forget the cup holder for the much needed mommy beverage and the convertible basket/backpack for storage and shopping.

Pro: Accommodates an infant without added bulk.
Con: Like all the Chicco models, the Liteway has no rain shield.
Best for: On-the-go families that crave a responsive, light stroller.

Ct0.6: Umbrella stroller with shoulder strap. ($69.99)

Pro: Light (just 11 lbs) and narrow (19” wide).
Con: Lack of features—only one recline setting, bumpy ride.
Best for: Air travel or city excursions where folding and unfolding is a necessity.

Cortina: Lightweight aluminum stroller with all the bells and whistles. ($169.99)

Pro: Car seat compatible, works from birth to 50 lbs.
Con: Heavy (over 22 lbs).
Best For: First time parents seeking little luxuries–snack trays, height adjustable handles and the like.

S3: All-terrain stroller that works with Chicco KeyFit car seat. ($429.99)

Pro: Responsive one-hand steering and sturdy EVA tires.
Con: Heavy and large, not billed as a jogging stroller even though it looks like one.
Best for: Active families who enjoy country strolls and beach walks.

Trevi Twin: Side-by-side double stroller ($199.99).

Pro: Individually reclining seats and compact fold; weighs only 23 lbs.
Con: Won’t hold a car seat.
Best for: Twins of same age.

Trevi: Compact, lightweight stroller (16.5 lbs) with plenty of extras. ($149.99)

Pro: Fully reclinable seat for napping; 3D fold make this easy to store.
Con: Seat isn’t as cushy as the Cortina, fewer adjustment options.
Best for: Parents who want a comfortable stroller, but don’t have the space for a large piece of baby gear.
