The Top 8 Things Dads Want for Valentine’s Day But Are Afraid to Ask For
I don’t want to get all creepy and Teleflora on you, but I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out what guys want for Valentine’s Day.
Any day, really. But sure, why not? This day works great for us, too.
Wait. What? Still not sure?
Allow my boys to demonstrate.
Still with me? Awesome.
You could puzzle your noodler over getting the most romantic thing in the world and sure, he’ll be appreciative – “Aww, a commemorative ice pack to remind me of our first date! Huh? Second? Really? Oh … right. Thanks!” — but you can bet good money that he’ll never be disappointed with a little Business Time.
And that takes us straight to The Top 8 Things Dads Want for Valentine’s Day But Are Afraid to Ask For.

Ernie commented on Feb 09 12 at 3:32 amWow, my wife and I really enjoy quite the role-reversal. I don’t care much for sports, she’s the huge hockey fan. Her sex drive outstrips mine several fold. And stupid action movies are more her thing than mine, although thankfully that does have limits.
But hey, you’re the one making silly “Top X Things about Y” lists that you’d expect in some cheesy magazine, so such subtleties in life are beyond you.
Jessica commented on Feb 09 12 at 11:50 amLighten up everyone! This was obviously done in fun. Men are not shallow or dumb. But you have to admit..”business time” is a popular choice;)
mbaker commented on Feb 09 12 at 1:21 pmSince the baby was born almost a year ago we haven’t had much time and energy for business time in between looking after the baby and attempting to keep the preschooler from going stir crazy. Luckily our babysitter is willing to stay overnight so we can have a night away without a baby monitor waking us up in the middle of the night and the preschooler waking us up before 7 to ask for screen time or to snuggle with us. My husband thinks that that’s our Valentine’s Day gift to each other but what he doesn’t know is that I snuck away for an hour for a boudoir photography session. I figure he deserved it given how much he’s been busting his butt lately to look after us.
BloggerFather commented on Feb 09 12 at 2:45 pmI’m still looking for the female-equivalent on Babble, where you say women want new vacuum cleaners for Valentine’s.
Hey, I understand. You’re dealing with Disney money here so you can’t take risks. Must stick with the cliches.
Jack@TheJackB commented on Feb 09 12 at 3:03 pmMost dads I know want to see this fake holiday go away…forever.
Daddy Mojo commented on Feb 11 12 at 9:29 pmWe use Valentine’s Day as something ONLY for the kids, not for mom and dad. Really, no sneak gifts for mom or dad, it’s all about the kids, we have a little party, heart shaped cakes, games, etc. and it’s all good.

Tamara commented on Feb 14 12 at 12:20 pmBahaha!! LOVE! Some people need to lighten up! Hell, there are some women out there who wouldn’t mind some “Business time”. If you don’t know this OR if you think they don’t want “business time”… FAIL!
I’m 7 months pregnant and ready to give my man some “business time”. Happy Valentines Day all!
