Being Pregnant
Little Miss A is two months old!
They really aren’t joking when they say that time flies when you are having fun! I joined Being Pregnant back in the fall, and was extremely happy to share the journey of my very unexpected third child with all the great readers here. But, alas… I am no longer pregnant!
Through all my ups, and downs, I had great readers supporting me, and leaving amazing well wishes.
Well, today, June 30th… is my last day, and this will be my last post on Being Pregnant. Now, don’t panic! I am still writing on Baby’s First Year, and my own website Momotics, so you can get your Danielle fill at any time, or your Addie fill… whichever you prefer! Continue reading »
Camden and Little Miss A ... Also known as Addison
You know that old saying… Kid’s say the darnedest things? My three-year-old has certainly become quite the comedian in the past year, especially with his vocabulary, and story telling.
But yesterday while we were visiting my husband’s grandmother for her 88th birthday he told he one of his best stories ever!
The tale of when Addison joined out family, and boy were we all in for a treat! Although it slightly confused Nana.

Anti-Abortion Advocates Protest
We all know that girl from out youth who thought she may have been pregnant and had no one she could really go to and talk about it, but maybe you. I know I did.
Her parents were strict, and would have flipped out, and sent her away like it was 1960 if they found out she was pregnant. Either that or they would have forced her into motherhood despite her wishes to not take that path. Virtually no choice in her own reproductive health at all. Their way, or the highway.
Well new legislation proposed would now criminalize minors, or anyone who helped them cross state lines to have an abortion in attempt to avoid parental notification laws, or other new laws restriction abortion options for women. Continue reading »
16 and Pregnant
We have all seen the show… Teens and their boyfriends preparing for babies, virtually clueless and often with little support, or help from family members other than a roof to live under.
These girls are blindly following everything that their provider tells them, even if they hate the provider to begin with, which we have seen in countless episodes in the three seasons it has been airing on MTV. Continue reading »
Pregnant men?
Pregnant belly dresses, fake pregnancy weight suits, men strapping electrodes all over their body to simulate a woman experiencing contractions, and labor… Yes, all these things have been done in the past to help show men what it is like to be pregnant or actually give birth.
Unfortunately for the female gender, that will never really happen. Biology has taught us that our partners with the penises will never actually get pregnant, carry a pregnancy, or give birth… physically just not possible. Continue reading »
With the new revaluation that repeat c-sections are driving up the cesarean section rates across the country, it brings up the age old question… Is VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) safe?
The answer to that question is YES! In healthy, low risk women with no complications it is the safest option after having a previous cesarean delivery.
Unfortunately because of the number of women having repeat c-sections, the true information and statistics surrounding vaginal birth after cesarean are being swept under the rug, and not given to patients by their providers. Continue reading »
With the c-section rate in the United States sharply increasing over the past decade researchers at Yale were interested in pinpointing exactly why this was happening. Although I didn’t need a big research study to know what the problem was, and their study proved it to me!
Big rises in the state of Connecticut where Yale resides, as well as Rhode Island their neighboring state prompted the original research. In fact after reading the study, I am happy to say one of the high risk Doctors I saw in my third trimester for all the pregnancy complications I was having was a co-author of the study!
